If there is a valid reason, other than perhaps no further world beyond that point, an appropriate in-game message would probably be best. If the road is barricaded by someone's orders, or on account of dangers beyond it, those are world reasons the player should be able to find out about somehow. Perhaps through conversation with an NPC. Perhaps the road is washed out or buried by a rockslide or some such. === You could be silly and have a system channel and write "The world stops here. :)" to that channel.
